Midcentury Vintage Edwin Trousers in Carob Brown

Part of our authentic midcentury reproduction trousers range, with all the features of the original 1940s pair and with a matching waistcoat to complete the look. This particular colourway is a warm carob brown tweed with tones of earthy green and rust red.

• Our Edwins sit high on the waist compared to a modern pair of fashion trousers.
• A button fly fastening and buttons for attaching braces add to the character of the 40s and 50s.
• A pair of pleats to each side front, partially stitched close at the top enables them to lay nice and flat on the stomach.
• Handy tab and buckle fixtures at the hips, to help adjust the size.
• Period feature vertical side seam pockets, unlike the angled ones most modern trousers now have.
• There is a curved seam across the back waist and a working back pocket with a button-down flap.
• Turn up hems with a 46 cm / 18" hem circumference.

Our trousers are designed to be worn high-waisted, sitting higher on the body than most modern trousers.  If you typically wear a size 34" or larger, we recommend ordering one size up to ensure a comfortable fit.

The size table in the listing images shows the inside leg measurements. However, please remember that our trousers have a longer rise than most modern trousers, which can add up to two inches to the inseam depending on where you wear them on your waist.
